Report of Member Service Committee

Due to the limited time there was no separate meeting of MSC during the Barcelona meeting. First experience of the Committee activities was presented by E.Z during the council session:

FIRST EXPERIENCE

• SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS IN IMPROVING THEIR QUALIFICATION AS TEACHERS
• SUPPORT FOR DEVELOPMENT OF ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE
• MORE INCENTIVES FOR BECOMING EURACT MEMBER
• INCREASED INTEREST IN CURRENT COURSES SUPPORTED BY EURACT
• SUPPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL CO-OPERATION OF GP TRAINERS

• LACK OF INFORMATION ABOUT THE SPONSORED COURSES IN OUR WEBSITE
• DIFFICULTIES IN ASSESSING THE RESULTS OF SPONSORING (SHOULD WE EVALUATE THAT?)

• DEVELOPMENT OF NEW STRATEGY WITH EMPHASIS ON SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS

Proposals for the development during the next year were discussed during the Executive Board meeting.

Future action plan for the year 2002.

1. Continue sponsorship for the Bled and CNGE (Paris) courses for EURACT members (5 sponsored places according to the previous scheme). Include into the requirements for successful applicants to make a report after the course. Responsible – E.Z.
2. Update the information about the sponsorship and include the CNGE course information to EURACT website at least 4 months prior to the beginning of the course. Responsible –Yonah Yaphe and Bernard Gay.
3. Develop proposal for the EURACT international rotating “teaching the teachers” course for European Society of General Practice/Family Medicine until the November 1^st. Responsible- E.Z. and Athanasios Simeonidis. EB members Igor Svab and Adam Windak to advise on project and the application as experts.
4. Prepare proposal for the next council meeting concerning sponsorship of places in other international courses for teachers. After discussion during the council meeting, in case the agreement is achieved, start negotiating with course rganisers.
5. Include into agenda of the next council meeting proposal about creation of database for personal exchange projects of EURACT members, to be discussed in meeting of Member Services Committee. Justin to ensure there will time dedicated for the discussion.
